Contact Fotel for all your barcode scanning equipment needs. Using a barcode scanner improves speed and accuracy. A barcode scanner rarely mis-decodes a barcode, it either decodes correctly or not at all. Barcode scanners can be programmed to accept a wide variety of barcode symbols. Modern barcode scanners are increasingly tolerant of damaged or poorly printed barcodes.
Barcode scanners have some limitations. For one, barcode scanning is line of sight: the barcode must be directly positioned to the scanner. For another, barcodes must be within scanner reading range, as determined by barcode size and minimum bar width. Some barcode scanners cannot see barcodes printed in certain colors or against certain backgrounds. Some barcode scanners cannot real all types of barcodes. There are relatively few scanners that can read linear and 2d barcode symbols. Certain barcode scanners must be correctly orientated or aligned to the barcode in order to read it.
